Lakeshore wins again, lead series with Blades 2-0 

  Before the smallest crowd of the season at the Blenheim arena the Lakeshore Canadiens took a 2-0 Provincial Junior Hockey League Stobbs Division best-of-seven quarter-final series lead with a 7-0 victory over the Blenheim Blades Thursday night.

   The teams will hit the ice again Friday night at 7 p.m. in Belle River, with Game 4 Sunday at 7 back at the Blenheim arena. In other quarter-final action Thursday the Amherstburg Admirals took a 2-0 series lead of the Petrolia Flyers thanks to a 5-3 victory in Petrolia.

   With their 5-1 opening game victory the Canadiens have outscored the Blades 12-1 so far.

   Adam Pizzo and Blake Bain had first period goals, with Eric Larue and Jake Nimmo netting second-period powerplay tallies.

   In the final 20 minutes Tycen Chittle scored twice, and Larue added his second of the night to wrap up the scoring.

   BLADES BITS: The Blades lineup was missing defenceman Jaxon Boucher and Sam McKinlay and forward Carter Wright…Canadiens’ veteran forward Brendan Ritchie, a former Blade, had his second three assists game…Lakeshore outshot Blenheim 58-14…The Blades did not score on six powerplays, while Lakeshore scored on two of their four powerplays…The Blades had 25 minutes in penalties and Lakeshore 16…The ice time sponsor was Ridge Landfill Community Trust.
