- This past April, the Blades’ family lost one of the most-beloved players in team history. Less than one month after playing the final game of his junior career, Craig was taken from us at the age of 22. His absence will be forever felt by his family, friends, teammates, coaches and fans.
Craig will always be remembered for his support and dedication to the Blades’ and Chatham Maroon organizations. His strength and leadership skills were unmatched. From a young age, he touched the lives of so many in Southwestern Ontario’s hockey community. Here in Blenheim, we were fortunate to claim him as our own for two seasons. In his 66 total games as a Blade, Craig had 33 goals and 107 points. When last season ended, our team Captain had won the Top Defenceman Award in the PJHL Stobbs Division.
Donations to the Craig Spence Memorial Scholarship Fund will help support worthy individuals and associations in athletics and academics.
