Maroons of the GOJHL this season.
Bowden, who turns 18 on Jan. 18, is a Tilbury native who played with the Windsor Spitfires ‘AAA’ major midgets last season and with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones ‘AAA’ minor midgets in 2017-18.
He joins Matt Cunningham, a 5’6” forward who played with the Sarnia Legionnaires of the GOJHL this season, scoring three goals in 33 games.
Cunningham, younger brother of team captain Alex Cunningham, played seven games as an AP with the Blades last season.
Bowden and Cunninmgham joined a third ex-GOJHL player Darby Lemieux, who has not played since the first exhibition game of the season with the Leamington Flyers, on the Blades roster.
Lemieux was signed in December.
Bowden’s signing leaves the Blades at the maximum 23 players on their roster, with the signing deadline Friday.
The three new Blades are expected to be in the lineup this weekend as the Blades face the top top teams in the PJHL – Friday against the first-place Lakeshore Canadiens in the Outdoor Shinny Series game at Windsor’s Lanspeary Park and Sunday at The Rec Centre against the second-place Mooretown Flags, both 7 p.m. starts.
The Blades have a 10-17-2-2 record for 24 points with nine games remaining in the PJHL Stobbs Division regular season. The Blades are tied with the Dresden Kings for sixth-place, four points behind the Wheatley Sharks and one up on the Petrolia Flyers.
