New Blenheim Blades head coach Peter South has named veteran defenceman Dan Paget to be the team’s captain for the 2009-10 Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League season.
Paget, who will be an over-ager for the Blades this season, played in 38 games last year scoring three goals and adding eight assists for 11 points. He also picked up 102 minutes in penalties.
Originally the Leamington resident began his Junior ‘C’ career with Wheatley Sharks before coming to the Blades part-way through the 06-07 season.
He rejoined the Blades last year after helping the Leamington Juveniles to the OMHA finals in 07-08.
“In my meeting that I’ve already had with Dan I can sense the passion that he has for the Blades, and his teammates, and can see how he’ll be a great leader for the team both on and off the ice, especially with this being his last season of junior hockey.” said South.
